I. Admission Requirements

1.Academic record equivalent to a Chinese senior high school graduate or above；

2.Capacity of language learning and communication in English; Students holding HSK are preferred；

3.Holding of HSK 4 and interests in Chinese language and adequate understanding in Chinese culture, society and economy；

4.Good self-discipline and interpersonal skills for independent living and studying; Being in good health.

5.Financial support from family to cover living and traveling expenses of studying in China.

For the applicants who don’t hold HSK 4 certificate, he or she is required to attend Foundation Course for one year prior to the academic study.

II. Academic Schedule 

Study Duration: 3 years, and 2 semesters a year;

Spring Semester: March to June (July to August for summer vocation, to be confirmed with school calendar.) 

Autumn Semester: September to December (January or February for winter vocation, to be confirmed with school calendar.) 

III. Teaching Arrangement

1.Mainly focuses on professional courses, skills and practice.

2.Passing all the courses as well as HSK 5 is qualified for graduation, and the Diploma of SVHC in Chinese and English version will be issued.

IV. Extra-curriculum Activities

1.  Student society: Calligraphy, Taiji, etc.

2.  Other activities: Mandarin Corner, Chinese Song Singing Course, Chinese Movie Appreciation, Chinese Culture Gala, Sports Events, New Year Party, etc.

3.  Social practice.

V. Application & Admission

Deadline for 2020 Autumn: 31st May, 2020

Deadline for 2020 Foundation Course: 31st May, 2020

1. Application submission: on site or E-mail

  Application submission on site: SVHC Overseas Student Application Form, Photocopy of Diploma or Certificate with school stamp, Photocopy of Transcript with school stamp, Photocopy of valid passport; 6 passport-sized photos.

  Application submission by E-mail: the digital version of all the above-mentioned documents 

2.If applicant is accepted, SVHC will send him or her SVHC Admission Letter and Visa Application for Study in China (JW202) prior to the application deadline. The successful applicant goes to Embassy of People’s Republic of China with the above-mentioned documents to apply for student visa(X).

3.Successful applicants should bring their SVHC Admission Letter, Visa Application for Study in China (JW202) and Foreigner Physical Examination Form (original) (this form only valid for 6 months) to complete admission procedures within the prescribed time indicated on the SVHC Admission Letter. Those who could not enroll 2 weeks after the prescribed time will be handled as voluntarily relinquished cases. All the applicants are required to complete medical check-up at authorized facilities after enrollment in China. Only those who successfully pass the medical check-up could be eligible to be enrolled.

VI. Support Policies

1. Scholarship

Scholarship assessment will be carried out each semester based on student number and specialty distribution.

2.Subsidy

(1)Tuition 

Health Allied Specialties: 6200 yuan/year

Non Health Allied Specialties: 4700yuan/year

After check-in, students with financial difficulties may apply for tuition waiver, academic departments deliver documents to Students’ Affairs Department after examinationa and approval.

(2)Living Allowance

6000 yuan/year (500 yuan/person/month)

Students offer application, academic departments deliver documents to Students’ Affairs Department after examinationa and approval, students offer application form every month according to the requirements.

(3)Others

Preparatory international students who pass HSK 4 and continue the study in Suzhou Vocational College will get the refund of tuition, accommodation and and insurance fees for the foundation year.

3.Part-time work 

Students with financial difficulites may apply for the part-time jobs on campus, thus get paid through work to ease the family financial strain.
