International Students’ Scholarships and Grants in Suzhou Vocational Health College

In order to promote the development of international students’ education and standardize the management of scholarships and grants for international students in our school, based on the Notice of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education on Improving the Chinese Government Scholarship Funding System and Raising the Funding Standards (Finance [2015]No. 1), this method is specially formulated in light of the actual conditions of the college.

1. Objects of Scholarship Awards

On-campus international students at Suzhou Vocational Health College.

2. Selection Conditions

(1) Abide by the relevant laws and regulations of the Chinese government; follow the rules and regulations of the college; must be friendly to Chinese and love the school.

(2) Respect the social customs and traditions of people from different countries; protect and advance friendship between people of every country.

(3) Respect the teachers and other personnel of the school; students should respect each other, be friendly and cooperative.

(4) Respect the sanitary regulations in the dorm; no disciplinary action has been taken, and there is no unrelieved punishment.

(5) Actively participate in various activities organized by the college with a good sense of teamwork.

(6) Study diligently, with excellent grades without failed courses.

3. Scholarship and Bursary Scheme

(1) Scholarship Program

Refer to the table below for the amount and proportion of awards:

The selection method is appropriately adjusted according to the number of international students and the distribution of majors. This award is selected once a semester.

(2)Scholarship Coverage

1. Tuition assistance. The tuition fees of health majors are 6,200 yuan/year, and non-health majors are 4,700 yuan/year. After students enter the school, those who are in financial difficulties can apply for a reduction or exemption, and the department will submit them to the Office of Student Affairs after approval.

2. Living allowances for 6,000 yuan/year (500 yuan per person per month). The application should be submitted by the student himself, and the department where the student belong will review it and submit it to the Office of Student Affairs: the international student shall submit the application form according to the living conditions every month.

3. Subsidies for other circumstances. During their preparatory studies, international students who have passed the HSK (Level 4) and continue to study in this college will receive a full refund of tuition, accommodation and insurance .

(3) Work-study Program

International students with financial difficulties can apply for on-campus work-study positions to relieve family economic pressure.

4. This method will be implemented from the date of its promulgation, and the Office of Student Affairs shall be responsible for interpretation.
