China-Ireland Master Program for “3 + 2 Nursing Professionals”

I.Munster Technological University (MTU), Ireland

Founded on January 1, 2021, MTU is an Irish public Polytechnic University formed by the merger of Institute of Tralee Technology established in 1977 and Cork Institute of Technology established in 1974. The university is located in southwest Ireland, with six campuses in Cork county and Carey county. It has more than 2000 faculty and administrative personnel and about 18000 students. It is a university certified by the Ministry of Education of China. MTU implements small class teaching, with a teacher-student ratio of 1:10. The vast majority of teachers have master's and doctor’s degrees and practical work experience. The nursing specialty is a strong specialty in Ireland. The curriculum is closely combined with practical work, and pays attention to practical skill training to meet the market demand. The diploma is internationally recognized. After graduation, students can continue to study for a doctorate or apply for an Irish registered nurse qualification certificate. This certificate is generally recognized in English speaking countries and the certificate owner can engage in medical and nursing work all over the world.

II.Cooperation and Exchange Between the Two Sides

The two sides began to communicate in August 2020. Form then on, the two sides have discussed and negotiated nursing professional cooperation projects for many times and completed course docking. The two sides officially signed the agreement on a “3 + 2” master program for nursing professionals in March 2021.

III.Cooperation Mode

3+1+1: Three years of college courses in our college + One year of honorary undergraduate course at Munster Technological University (With qualified results, students will obtain the Bachelor of nursing honors degree certificate issued by Munster Technological University) + One year study in Master's program of Munster Technological University (With qualified results, students will obtain the master's degree certificate in nursing issued by Munster Technological University)

IV.Admission Requirements

A.Obtain the graduation certificate and all transcripts of nursing major in Suzhou Vocational Health College

B.Obtain the professional qualification certificate of nurses in China

C.Language requirements

IELTS 6.0 and above—Two-week preparatory course

IELTS 5.5—3-month English course

IELTS 5.0—6-month English course

IELTS 4.5—12-month English course

V.Future Prospects

1.Further education: The degree certificate is internationally recognized, and students can continue to study for doctoral degrees in other European and American countries.

2.Foreign employment: After graduation, students can apply for a two-year work visa and apply for the qualification certificate of Irish registered nurse and look for job opportunities in medical and nursing management, research and education.

3.Returning home for employment: As high-end compound technical talents with proficiency in English and professional skills, plus studying abroad and working experiences overseas, it is easier for students to obtain high paid jobs in China.

4.Immigration: according to the policy of the Irish Immigration Service, non Shengen residents who have worked locally for two years and have an annual salary of more than 30000 Euros can apply for a green card.
