Department of Medical Technology offers specialties Medical Technology, Medical Nutrition, Health Laboratory & Quarantine Technology and Biomedicine Technology. The Department proudly owns an excellent teaching team with profound expertise,  which consists of over 50 full-time teachers, including 45% senior title holders, 67% Master and PhD graduates, and more than 85% dual-quality teachers, while teaching team of Medical Technology is recognized as provincial Excellent Teaching Team. The Department has built many on-campus practice centers, including Medical Laboratory Training Center and Municipal Key Laboratory of Medical and Biomedicine Technology. The Department has built a close working relationship with many top hospitals such as Jiangsu Province Hospital, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University, Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University. It also maintains good relationships with many major bio-tech companies and bio-medical technology labs within and outside of Jiangsu Province to facilitate student internship. All of these provide a solid guarantee to graduates with high quality and advanced skills.

The specialty of Medical Technology is accredited as the Provincial Characteristic Specialty and the Nationally Financed Key Specialty and the Provincial Backbone Specialty respectively. Main courses are Fundamental Clinical Medical Technology, Clinical Biochemistry Technology, Immunology Study, Microorganism Study, Hematology Study, Parasitology Laboratory and Skills of Blood Transfusion, etc. Target Employers are Laboratories in hospitals, CDC, Blood Transfusion Service and Wellness Centers, etc.
