A Delegation of Teachers and Students from Taiwan Daren University of Science and Technology Came to our College for Study

On December 17, 2018, a delegation of 10 teachers and students led by Zeng Shanren, Vice Executive Director of Taiwan Daren University of Science and Technology, was invited to visit our college for exchange and study.

The opening ceremony was held at the Nursing School. First of all, Gu Shuqin, Vice Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, made a welcoming speech. She warmly welcomed the visits of teachers and students from Taiwan Daren University of Science and Technology, and briefly introduced the general situation and development of the College.

Then, the delegation studied basic theory and technology of traditional Chinese medicine in Department of Nursing, Department of Clinical Medicine Science and Department of Pharmacology successively. Teachers and students learned the origin, development, concepts, basic techniques, operation points and precautions of scraping and cupping in Department of Nursing, listened carefully and took an active part in scraping and cupping practices. They learned about the application of acupuncture, massage, Taijiquan, Baduanjin and traditional Chinese medicine in modern rehabilitation medicine in Department of Clinical Medicine Science and experienced Chinese Kungfu. In Department of Pharmacology they visited the Popular Science Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine, simulated pharmacies and sika deer, ginseng and Ganoderma lucidum specimens collected in the Science Popularization Museum. They also learned how to use the weighing scale and make the sachet by hand.

Subsequently, the delegation visited Education Base for Integrity on Shuyuan campus, the affiliated Ophthalmology Hospital and the Stomatology Hospital, and learned about the mode of training optometrists and dentists in mainland China and the social services of the two affiliated hospitals.

The visit of Taiwan Daren University of Science and Technology effectively promoted in-depth communication between teachers and students of both sides and cultural exchanges across the Taiwan Strait. The College will continue to take the "characteristic health care of traditional Chinese medicine" as the platform, give full play to the advantages of its brand specialties, and launch short-term exchange projects of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, massage, traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques, etc. for in-depth professional exchanges and learning.
