A Delegation of Scientists from Europe and the United States visited our College for Research and Exchange

On the afternoon of June 13, 2018, a delegation of thirteen outstanding scientists from Europe and America visited our college to exchange the scientific research work of our school. The delegation members include Stephen C. West, outstanding researcher of Scrick Institute of France and UK, fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, fellow of Royal Academy of Sciences, Yang Wei, outstanding researcher of National Institutes of Health, fellow of American Academy of Sciences, fellow of American Academy of Humanities and Sciences, and Stephen Kowalczykowski, professor of University of California, Davis, fellow of American Academy of Sciences.

President Lv Junfeng and Vice President Luo Xiaoqing of our college warmly received the visiting delegation. President Lv delivered a welcoming speech. On behalf of all the teachers and students, he warmly welcomed the delegation's visit. Vice President Luo briefed the delegation on the development, personnel training, scientific research and achievements of the College. Professor Shen Binghui, National Medical Center of Hope City, USA, introduced the academic background of the delegation members and expressed his affirmation and confidence in the development of our school. Then, accompanied by the school leaders, the delegation visited the nursing training center and the scientific research platform of the biotechnology center.

After the visit, the delegation held a meeting with young teachers of the college and representatives of scientific researchers of the Suzhou Science and Technology City Hospital, discussing in depth the cultivation of scientific literacy, scientific research habits, and the relationship between scientific research and life. The two sides exchanged views and opinions on topics of scientific research, the relationship between scientific research and life, the significance of basic research, how to read literature, and how teachers study abroad. Representatives of scientific researchers raised their own questions. Experts replied earnestly and put forward many guiding suggestions and shared their personal growth process.

The members of the visiting delegation have the current top scientific and academic level in Europe and the United States. The exchange and visit of scientists to our college is of great significance for us to carry out scientific research work. Experts from Europe and the United States appreciated the long-term strategic plan formulated by the college. At the same time, they threw olive branches to the scientific research staff of our school, welcoming teachers here to study and communicate abroad.
